D-Day Trading Cards Collection Released On-line in Time for Christmas

World War II trading card collection commemorating D-Day has just been released online, just in time for the holidays.

(PRWEB) December 9, 2005 -- A World War II trading card collection commemorating D-Day has just been released online by ww2-cards. Trading card and memorabilia collectors of World War II items will delight in finding this new collection. They are a valuable collection for collectors, produced to an extremely high standard. They contain a wealth of information and images gathered from WWII archives and historical documents. The collection has added value as an immediate and powerful educational tool.

Mrs D Wilson a Secondary and High School Teacher in Devon England asked at a recent Collectors Show. "Why aren't these in all the schools? I teach history to ages between 13 and 16, they all have an interest in World War 2, but it is getting information across to them and making it stick that is difficult. I took the set back to my Hotel and opened them up to check out and could not put them down without going through the whole lot, The information is to the point and easy to assimilate. The way they assemble make it even more interactive. Collector cards are such a perfect way to involve them as they appeal directly to all ages and work in line with today's short attention span. I bought these for my husband but I can see these being a great teaching and revision aid - you guys have to get them into the Schools, really, as soon as possible!"

The cards have sections on weapons, key figures, Generals and Commanders, vehicles, armour, maps, battle and beachhead plans. The cards are stamped with gold foil, and the backs are full of documented historical information and details. The sub-sets feature Chiefs of Staff, Medals, Overlords and Covert operations. These sub-sets are decoratively stamped in silver foil. A gold stamped "War Chest" binder has been produced to protect, preserve and safeguard the value of the series. All details of the Normandy landings have been laid out in a chronological and concise format.

The DDay WWII Card collection based on the events starting on 6th June 1944 makes a perfect keepsake for veterans, and would make an ideal gift, or addition to your war memorabilia collection. It is also an ideal teaching aid for teachers of history.
